Mike was born in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He is a 1983 graduate of Bowdoin College and a 1988 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. Mike is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Maine as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mike is rated “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell.
For his entire career, Mike has represented lenders and borrowers in commercial lending transactions, primarily involving commercial real estate. Prior to rejoining Monaghan Leahy in 2017, Mike was in-house counsel at Unum Group where he closed large commercial mortgage loans all over the country. He is also experienced in land use and municipal law and has argued numerous times before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Mike was elected a fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and serves as the state chair for Maine. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Fryeburg Academy.
