Cornelia S. Fuchs

Cornelia S. Fuchs is admitted to practice in Maine and the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Cornelia’s practice is exclusively focused on all aspects of divorce litigation, family law matters and family mediation.  Cornelia is also a certified mediator and serves as a family law mediator for the Maine District Courts through the Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Service.

When couples separate, the challenges can be complex, particularly when children are involved.  Choosing the right lawyer to help navigate a critical transition in your life is important.  Cornelia is experienced, knowledgeable and supportive.  Her primary goal is to strongly represent your interests.  Cornelia believes in being proactive and keeping clients well informed.

Cornelia is a member of the Maine and Cumberland County Bar Associations, the Maine Association of Mediators, the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and she is a Fellow of the Maine Bar Foundation.  She is the proud mother of a grown son and daughter, and resides in Portland with her husband.  Conversant in German, Cornelia was born in New York, New York and raised in Portland, Maine.  She graduated from Smith College, cum laude, and the University of Maine School of Law in 1990.  She is the former President of the Board of Directors of the University of Maine School of Law Alumni Association, served as a Director of the Portland Ballet Board, and volunteered in the Portland Public Schools.
