Thomas F. Monaghan, Of Counsel

Thomas F. Monaghan was born in Gardiner, Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1954 and received his LL.B. from Boston College Law School in 1959. He was admitted to practice in Oregon in 1959 and in Maine and before the U.S. District Court, District of Maine in 1960. During the 1970's, Mr. Monaghan served as personal attorney to the Governor of the State of Maine, representing Maine before the Supreme Judicial Court of the State of Maine and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has tried in excess of three hundred cases, with his legal practice primarily in the area of civil litigation. He is currently "of counsel" to the firm.

Thomas G. Leahy was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. He is a 1971 graduate of the School of Liberal Arts at Boston University, cum laude, and a 1974 graduate of the University of Maine, School of Law. He was admitted to practice in Maine and the U.S. District Court, District of Maine in 1974. He served as a member of the Maine Guarantee Authority, the predecessor to the Finance Authority of Maine, from 1977 to 1983. He is currently a member of the Cumberland and Maine State Bar Associations. He is a former President of the Cumberland Bar Association. Mr. Leahy's practice is primarily in the commercial and banking areas.

Kevin G. Libby, a native of Massachusetts, earned his B.S. from the United States Military Academy, an M.A. from Boston University and his J.D. from the University of Maine, School of Law. He served on active duty with the U.S. Army, Berlin from 1971 to 1975. He was admitted to practice in all courts in Maine and Massachusetts, and the U.S. District Court, Maine and Massachusetts in 1979. Mr. Libby's practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury, professional negligence, property and product liability, as well as family and domestic law.

Christopher C. Dinan

Christopher C. Dinan is a 1977 graduate of Harvard College, cum laude, and a 1982 graduate of the University of Maine Law School. He was admitted to practice in Maine and the U.S. District Court, District of Maine, in 1982. He is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, First Circuit, and is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Christopher C. Dinan has tried matters to civil juries throughout Maine and he has frequently argued cases before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, including significant tort and insurance coverage matters. The Maine Superior Courts have selected him to serve as a discovery master in complex commercial litigation and appointed him to mediate sharply disputed civil litigation. Mr. Dinan has served as a mediator or arbitrator in over one thousand cases, beginning in 1993. In this role he has helped resolve personal injury matters, insurance coverage cases, business disputes, construction disputes and intensely emotional matters involving alleged abuses of the priest-parishioner and therapist-patient relationships.  He was recently listed in New England Super Lawyers for Alternative Dispute Resolution as one of only four Maine attorneys listed in that field.  He has also been listed for the last four years in The Best Lawyers in America for ADR, and, in 2010, for personal injury litigation.

John J. Wall was born in Bangor, Maine. He is a 1989 graduate of Cornell University and a 1992 graduate of the University of Maine, School of Law, cum laude, where he was a member and Assistant Editor of the Maine Law Review. Mr. Wall is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Maine as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Wall's primary area of practice is civil litigation. He has substantial experience as trial counsel in commercial claims, personal injury claims, and insurance coverage disputes. He also has an active appellate practice.

Kenneth D. Pierce

Kenneth D. Pierce was born in Stamford, Connecticut. He is a 1979 graduate, magna cum laude, of the School of Liberal Arts at Boston College. Mr. Pierce enjoyed a successful sales career in the medical device industry before obtaining his law degree in 1990 from Northeastern University School of Law. In law school, he clerked for Massachusetts Trial Court Justice Hon. Joseph Grasso and in the litigation departments of Bingham, Dana & Gould, Boston, and Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, Portland, Maine. He is admitted to practice in Maine, Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine. Mr. Pierce has extensive civil jury trial experience in federal and state court in matters involving personal injury, motor vehicles, employment, real estate, insurance coverage and products liability issues. Mr. Pierce is the former President of the Boston College Alumni Association National Board of Directors.

Cornelia Fuchs was born in New York, New York. She graduated from Smith College, cum laude, in 1984 and from the University of Maine Law School in 1990. She is admitted to practice in Maine and the U.S. District Court, District of Maine. Ms. Fuchs specializes in general liability, property damage and personal injury defense litigation, as well as family and domestic law. Ms. Fuchs serves as a Director for the University of Maine School of Law Alumni Association and Portland School of Ballet. She is conversant in German.

His practice focuses in the areas of commercial transactions, probate and civil litigation. He is a member of the Cumberland and Maine State Bar Associations and is also an active member of the South Portland Civil Service Commission.

Patrick D. Thornton was born in Lewiston and raised in Portland. He graduated, cum laude, from the University of Maine, School of Law in 2007, where he was a member and Research Editor of the Maine Law Review. While in law school, he studied abroad at the National University of Ireland at Galway. Patrick worked in real estate before entering law school, completing title searches and conducting closings throughout Maine. His practice focuses on real estate and civil litigation and he is admitted in Maine and Connecticut, and is a member of the Cumberland and Maine State Bar Associations.
